What to send for an assessment

An old tattoo, a scar and a birthmark are different starting points. Existing colour, density, outlines and skin condition all affect what a new design can cover. The portfolio now includes a large old-tattoo transformation, a birthmark cover-up and scar-coverage examples.

Every cover-up is assessed individually from photographs first, then in person. Zencat’s artist, Yao, is a Chinese-speaking tattoo artist trained at the China Academy of Art, with a background in game art. Consultations are available in English and Mandarin.

Include an unfiltered close-up and a wider photograph, approximate dimensions and the history of the area. Photographs help with an initial assessment, but coverage, scale and skin suitability cannot be guaranteed without discussing the individual project.

Sydney guest-spot enquiries are welcome. Zencat does not currently have a permanent Sydney studio. A host studio and dates must be arranged and confirmed before any appointment can be booked.
